USER-FRIENDLY CALIBRATION FUNCTION
OPTIMISES OPERATION. During use, the chainsaw will automatically adjust to achieve optimum performance. Calibration speeds up this process. This is useful at altered altitudes for example, where there is a different air pressure. To calibrate, first start the chainsaw with the chain brake engaged and let it run at idle speed for 30 to 45 seconds. Then press and hold the throttle lever fully for a further 40 to 45 seconds. The engine speed will fluctuate and then increase significantly. As soon as the engine speed drops noticeably, release the throttle lever. Your chainsaw is calibrated.
MANUAL DECOMPRESSION
EFFORTLESS START-UP. The decompression valve makes it easier to start your power tool. When starting, you can allow some of the compressed mixture to escape from the cylinder by opening the valve. This protects the start-up system and reduces the amount of force required on the starter cord.
GOOD POWER-TO-WEIGHT RATIO
PERCEPTIBLY LOW WEIGHT WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE. Thanks to modern techniques, the use of lightweight materials and compact design, this power tool has a very good power-to-weight ratio. This means that you can work particularly effortlessly, without having to forgo high performance.
COMBI LEVER WITH STOP FUNCTION
SIMPLIFIED OPERATION. Only one start position is required on the combi lever. Thanks to the stop function, once the machine is turned off the control lever immediately moves back into the operating position. This allows a warm machine to be restarted immediately.
OPTIMISED BUMPER SPIKES
FOR A FIRM GRIP ON THE TREE. The rounded arrangement of the bumper spike teeth matches the radial contours of trees. This means that your chainsaw will bite even better into the wood when cutting to length and felling.
STIHL EMATIC SYSTEM
REDUCES OIL CONSUMPTION. The STIHL Ematic system comprises a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain and a controlled-delivery oil pump. It ensures that the chain oil gets to where it is needed for lubrication. This allows you to reduce oil consumption by up to 50%. If you often work in dusty conditions or if you use long guide bars, you can quickly and easily increase the oil quantity at any time with the new oil pump system.
FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
PLUNGE GUIDE
FACILITATES CORRECT CUT DIRECTION. The plunge guide makes it easier to check the cutting direction during plunge cutting. It is mounted on the fan housing and runs parallel to the symmetry line of the guide bar.
TOOL-FREE FUEL CAP FOR OIL AND FUEL TANKS
QUICK AND EASY TO USE. With tool-free fuel cap, you can open and close oil and fuel tanks in just a few simple steps, thanks to a bayonet closure.
